To enhance the validity of the assessment it is important that the physiotherapist has reviewed the workplace, or a detailed job description has been provided by the employer. The physical examination may include:

- Upper limb function
- Grip strength
- Body composition
- Lifting technique and capacity

- Blood Pressure
- Body Composition
- Estimated VO2 maximum
